Outlook may prompt you to import the settings out of your old mail program. If it does, then you should be able to simply click "Next" several times to accomplish this (without having to change the defaults) After having done that, check to see if your mail works. If not, proceed below.
Click the TOOLS menu, and select ACCOUNTS.
Click the ADD button and then select MAIL
Enter your real name, with capitalization, punctuation, etc., just how you want it to appear.
Click NEXT
Enter your email address in lower case letters.
This is your login name followed by "@apex2000.net" (without the
quotes, and with no spaces)
Click NEXT
Make sure server type is set to POP3 (not IMAP).
Enter mail.apex2000.net for both the POP3 and the SMTP servers.
Click NEXT
Click "Log on using:" and type your login name (the part of your email
address before the "@" sign).
This must be all lower case! Enter your password in the space provided
(The same password you use when you connect to Apex 2000, unless you are setting up a
second email account).
Click NEXT
Now it has a prompt for a "name" to give this set of settings.
You can leave it on the default, or change it. It won't affect anything either way.
Click NEXT
Click "I will establish my internet connection manually".
(or if that choice isn't listed, look for an option to NOT initiate a dialup
connection)
Click NEXT
Click FINISH
Click CLOSE
When you go to INBOX, it may ask you if you want to import the mail from your old mail program. Just click NEXT on each window and it will import.
That's it. If it doesn't work after all this, give us a call! :)
